Under Pennsylvania auto insurance law, drivers must purchase and maintain car insurance in order to legally drive in the state. As of June 2009, the required coverages are:

Medical Benefits Limits: Minimum $5,000. 

Bodily Injury Liability Limits: Minimum of $15,000 per person and $30,000 per accident. 

Property Damage Liability Limits: Minimum of $5,000 per accident.
